Chapter 15
![Picture](/uploads/5/0/9/7/50971519/speaker-for-dead.jpg?245)
Chapter 15 which is the last chapter of the book starts off like any other chapter, with a conversation between Anderson and Graff. They are now talking as friends instead of colleagues. They talk about what the future holds for each of them. They also talk about how Graff has avoided prosecution for some of his acts. Ender learns how he killed Stilson and Bonzo, and feels like Peter again. On eros Ender tires to be as useful as he can, and he suggests things through others. Ender then learns that he can never go back to Earth, because Peter now has control of the whole planet. If he were to return he would be manipulated and used by Peter. Because he can't move back to earth, he joins his sister Valentine on the first colony on the buggers planet. He then decides to learn about their past. On the new planet Ender discovers a place that is all too familiar. He discovers the same landscape from the Giants game. He then ventures up the tower to find a mirror...as he looks into the mirror he finds the pupa of the bugger queen waiting to hatch tons of buggers. He realizes that the buggers set up the game telepathically. Ender then goes out to try to find a safe place where the buggers can be saved. Ender writes a book called "Speaker for the dead" which is about the buggers history and how the buggers just wanted to communicate. The book almost becomes a Bible back on earth and speaks the truth about this "evil" race.
Important quote: "Speaker for the Dead"
This may be a short quote, however it has a deep meaning. It shows how the two populations could not communicate and because of that one had to become extinct. It also shows how what Ender was tricked into doing is haunting his mind and he feels he has to give back to the buggers in any way that he can.

Chapter 14
![Picture](/uploads/5/0/9/7/50971519/o-universe-hologram-facebook.jpg?411)
Chapter 14 all starts off with the Colonel and Admiral talking about enders vacation. Ender is introduced to the simulator. This is command schools equivalent to the battle room. It is a hologram which means that it is 3d. HE also finds out who his new teacher is... Mazor Rackham. When they first meet Ender gets attacked by Mazor Rackham in his own room. He attacked him as his first lesson, never turn your back on the enemy. Rackham says "i will be your teacher because I am your enemy" this shows that the enemy is the greatest thing to learn from.
Ender then moves to a new simulator where he has to command a whole fleet. He discovers that the fleet is full of his old friends and enemies from battle school like Crazy Tom, Bean, Dink, and Petra. Ender has a battle every few days and he spends hours practicing with his squadron leaders. After him and Rackham learn from his mistakes. He then goes for his last battle where he is extremely outnumbered. He ends up winning. Ender then learns that he did not beat the simulator, he beat the buggers. Ender is upset because he killed a whole population without even knowing. He sleeps through five days and then wakes up with his squadron leaders at his side.
Quote: "i will be your teacher because I am your enemy"
I think this quote is important because you learn from mistakes, and you only make mistakes by being in situations. This is why practice makes perfect, because you make mistakes in practice and then you learn from them. The simulator before the real thing is what makes ender make mistakes and helps ender learn.

Chapter 13
The buggers war is all because they haven't been able to talk. I think that even if they can't talk war is a good way to keep the enemy quite and make your point across. Although it may be best to talk first, most arguments and disagreements don't go far. I think that disagreements are what cause war and war ends the disagreements. One example is that we are almost in a mini war at the moment between democrats and republicans all because of communication. I think that sometimes war is necessary and I think it is necessary to fix life and get rid of fear on earth. One example of why war is necessary is WW2, the nazis did not listen so we took action and saved many lives in the process although some sacrifices were made.
Chapter 12
![Picture](/uploads/5/0/9/7/50971519/stop.jpg?98)
Enders is upset because he is insecure. He thinks that he acts like peter. He says "I didn't want to hurt him" because he was forced to. Enders did not want to fight Bonzo because he doesn't want to act like his older brother Peter, he thinks peter is a manipulator. Peter scarred Ender into making him insecure about hurting people. Ender thinks on the stuff he did for a long time.
Chapter 11
![Picture](/uploads/5/0/9/7/50971519/pushing.png?202)
A major them in the book is how the adults/teachers treat Ender and how the push him. They are re-arranging all of battle-school for Ender. They do this so that they can push Ender to see whether he is capable of what they think he is. I think that the adults are willing to push him to his breaking point which is what he will encounter in the war. I think that they will do anything to make him into the successful commander tat is needed. However this will help Ender and push him to succeed. With peter in his mind Ender will try not to be like him, its almost like a ghost is haunting him.
Journal Promp Chapter 10
When the new army goes to the battle room for the first time they keep their orientation. Enders first job is to break them of that. When in the bathroom it doesn't matter which way is up or down because you are floating and any way can be up or down. One example is scuba diving, although there is an up(surface) and there is a down ( ground) you can float and swim in whatever way you want. You can put anything in your mind and think at it differently and it becomes a whole new thing. Another thing you can change by your prespective is a science lab, you could look at it and prove that it is right, or prove that it is wrong. Doing that changes the whole lab all because of the way you look at it, this applies to the battle room.
Journal Prompt Chapter 9
Peter tells Valentine that Hitler and other historical leaders gained power mostly by using "the right words at the right time." Do you agree with Peter? How can the right words sometimes be more powerful than physical or military strength?
I agree with what Peter tell Valentine in the sense that words can hit harder than strength. Especially in politics, because people vote for what they hear. One example is that people won't vote for Hillary because she lied and people won't vote for Trump because of stuff he has said. Howeber the polls keep fluctuating due to what people say at certain times. This shows how powerful words can be which is what Peter was trying to get across.

Chapter 9 (part 2)
![Picture](/uploads/5/0/9/7/50971519/lodem.jpg?250)
In chapter Nine it changes the books theme a little bit. Instead of focusing on just ender, it also focuses on life on earth. We get to see what is going on in Enders family through the eyes of valentine. First we see that Valentine misses her brother very much because she celebrates Enders 8th birthday alone in the backyard of their new home. We then learn that Peter is still his good old self and still shows his manipulative side. However we do learn something new about Peter, he has a weak spot. This made Valentine question what is going on with Peter.
Peter had found that nations were preparing for land war which meant something bad was going to happen soon. Peters idea was to take false identities (Locke and Demosthenes) to state their political ideas and views and gain power. However he had to have valentine to help him. Peters idea soon fits to plan and they are now being used on the media. However Graf comes to meet Valentine at her school. Graf needs help with ender because he is struggling, so she sends him a letter through Graf. However Ender sees right through it and it frustrates him more. Then the chapter switches back over to battle school. Ender is struggling because he is thought of as a soldier and a teacher and not as a friend.
Irony of Locke and demosthenes: Valentine as the radical Demosthenes and Peter as the moderate Locke so they are swapped by personalities.

Chapter 9 (part 1)
Chapter 9 starts off with a conversation between Graf and Imbu. The conversations topic is about the mind game, they know that it has messed up Enders mind. Graf is furious and starts the conversation off with "How the hell did the computer do that?" Graf came to Imbu for answers and is furious because there is no answer to why a picture of peter appeared. That one picture of peter in the mirror messed up Ender's mind and mentality, the game hinted that Ender is Peter which was Ender's worst nightmare. This made Ender unhappy with his life and he did not want to live it. That quote is important to the chapter because it shows frustration which I think is the main theme of chapter 9.
Another important quote is also from the conversation between Graf and Imbu which is "The mind game is a relationship between the child and the computer. Together they create stories. The stories are true in the sense that they reflect the reality of the child's life." I think that this is super important to the rest of the book, because i predict that this game they are talking about is what the title is talking about. I think that the rest of the book will be based around Enders "relationship" with the computer.
Chapter 8
![Picture](/uploads/5/0/9/7/50971519/fake.png?198)
In chapter dink and Ender have a theme changing and mind changing conversation. Dink discusses his views on battle school when they meet in the cafeteria. Dink tells Ender that battle school is all fake and it makes you go crazy. HE also says that the buggers are all gone and that they were killed in the first and second invasion. This makes ender think long and hard. However he does not believe that it is true, a "seed" is in his head and the more he thinks about it the more the seed grows. Also the roots are stuck in his head so he won't forget about it. This makes ender inquire Wisdom because it made him listen more carefully to what people meant and not what they said.

To win the battle there must be five players. One player in each corner and one must got through the gate. The four players in each corner opens the gate. The phrase could mean three things, either th way he orients himself where the enemy gate is down, also it could be that the game is still going on and they need the five players to open it, or it could result as a loss.
